There are ten Task A responses; ten Task B responses. There are ten Task A responses; ten Task B responses. Both sets are written in completely different styles, conceived and refined to allow me to maximally telegraph the ten psychometric qualities discussed in The Philosophy of Section II Success that I believe ACER are testing for in a 90+ Section II response. Indeed, as I have written, Section II is not a writing test – it is a test of where your writing is coming from; a test of YOU! How do you perceive, think about, relate to, and integrate the world around you? How do you organise this world into larger narratives and themes? How insightful are these ideas? And how do you situate yourself within them, and your ideas with respect to ideas and perspectives that differ from your own?
These essays are a display of everything that I learned that led to me getting the highest Section II score in the September 2020 GAMSAT.
I searched high and low for high scoring essays – I read every essay I could get my hands on. Des O’Neals, I trawled Paging Dr, purchased the (very few) essays available branded as 80+ (which were inevitably written in creative styles or in such a way that replicating them was challenging or not productive). I analysed 300-400 of the best GAMSAT essays I could find, and found common threads. This lead to my original frameworks for each style. I then hired, exhausted, and burnt through 7 tutors testing and refining it; while tutoring around 15 people and marking their essays daily. I read and metabolised every free and paid resources I could find and constantly refined my approach and structures. This is the outcome.
Essays like this didn’t exist when I did my preparation. Had they have, I could have saved a great deal of time, money and effort – and would have inevitably done better for SII, and probably the other sections, too, with the time saved.
Now you don’t need to guess what the best looks like. You don’t have to worry that the place you’re getting feedback from is coaching you to a criteria that might not actually be truly representative of what ACER really wants.

Sample introduction from a Task A on globalisation:
“Big brother was watching, until big data took the reins. They who watch, know; they who know, rule; and ruling necessitates responsibility. Globalisation is undergirded by interdependence, and intercommunication. These economic, and communicative flows between nations has ushered a growing socio-cultural, and economic homogeneity on a global scale, and a transition of political and economic power from governments to corporations. The influence of Silicon Valley giants such as Facebook, has in many respects uniquely overcome governments in these countries in their ability to monitor and influence human behaviour on a meta level. This implies an urgent need for the reconsideration of the structural checks which were once imposed only on governments, to be laterally applied to these companies in order to ensure they operate in socially responsible ways…”
